Clermont Ride 8/9 if your interested

A group of people from the website I get my training from is organizing a ride in Clermont if anyone is interested. It will be 8:30 on Saturday August 9th if anyone is interested. More details to come.

That could be fun. They level those hills off in Clermont yet? Wonder how long a ride they're planning?

They are planning a 10 mile figure 8 loop that includes Sugarloaf. Some are planning up to 70 miles, but they are going to find an alternative to climbing Sugarloaf 7 times.

i trained this route alot for CDA. I will take you up Sugarloaf and buckhill and a couple other quick painful climbs.
If you do two laps around the lake plus this you should be around 70m

I would recommend started ALOT earlier just due to traffic especially around the lake.

i am racing on the 9th I plan on riding out there on the 10th but i would probably start around 630am if anybody wants to join me avg 18-19mph and i will more than likely do the hills 2x and ride 60-70miles

What time do you leave Lakeland to be there at 6:30? I would much rather go with people from the Lakeland Group, so I would be willing to change the date to the 10th. I think a larger loop would be more fun than a 10 mile loop too.

I usually left Lakeland an hour before. If we start by 645-7am i will be happy i am driving from Brandon now! However, I spoke too soon, my parents may be coming into town to see me...in which case i will postpone Clermont to next weekend and ride our group ride (probably van fleet again). I can't pass up an opportunity for mom and dad to decorate my new place

If I don't end up going and you do let me know and i will give you the shortcut, it is off 33 where we rode last weekend.

Absolutely, free help is always nice. The next weekend isn't going to be good for me, the Ft. Desoto Sprint is the 16th.

I would love to do the Clermont ride Labor day weekend... I know that is way in advance, but maybe if we plan and put it out there ahead of time, we can replace the Van Fleet ride for that one week?? It could be an "event" of sorts with a lunch afterwards....

for sure! On Sunday's Clermont has a farmers market on the main street with all kinds of yummy food. There also is a good restaurant on the lake..

That would probably work best for everyone to have a planned day. I am game for Labor day weekend.

Labor Day weekend! Count me in! Not 70 miles though...Is there yummy food at the end of 40 miles?? Sugarloaf???? That doesn't sound fun.

I am definitely doing Labor day weekend, but dawn may still be going this weekend (and maybe someone else). But, Sunday the Landsharks will ride at 7:00am at Van Fleet again. I will not be there (or my hubby) cause we shipped our bikes yesterday for our half ironman....

I will plan on being at the Van Fleet trail this weekend and postponing the clermont ride for Labor Day Weekend.

It's my coach that is organizing the Clermont ride this weekend. I am going to ride the Olympic course at 0630, then meet him back for the 10 mile Sugarloaf/Buckhill repeat fun. All are welcome, should be loads of fun!
