Ironman Louisville 2009

Hola,
I originally had planned to do IM Florida in 2009 but decided i would rather do Louisville. Anyone want to join me? I plan on doing most of my training in San Antonio (Florida) up by St Leo college. It is a bit hilly but nothing like Clermont....the race is in August which means it will be hot but we train in Florida - hot doesnt scare us

Yes, I am going also to do an Ironman in 2009 and was debating between these same two events. I do most of my training here in Lakeland, Polk City, Plant City and Clermont. I looked your town up though and you are not that far away. Perhaps we could do some long runs and bike rides on the weekend.. My long rides are typically around 19-21mph and 7:45-8:00min miles for long runs but I can adjust... I will be in the 45-50 mens age group category at the event.

Do you know if we will have to agressively register for the Louisville event (like find out the day registration opens and get signed up right away?

I definitely plan on doing Louisville. I know it is a pretty difficult race due to heat and humidity that time of year but training in Fl should give us a leg up. I would like to ride or run with you. My runs are a bit slower (around 840-850) but i am working on getting faster so maybe by the time we start training i will be there Let me know what you decide. We will need to register first thing when the registration opens. Ironman events sell out pretty quick and i think this one is getting to be popular. I log onto ACTIVE prior to registration opening and in fill in all my info and hit send when it opens up. Dade City is only a 45 min drive from Lakeland, it is actually closer than Clermont.

Sounds good, how do you know which exact day/time the Louisville 2009 race will open up for registration?

i would have to check the website. Since they are in the same time zone it won't be too big of a deal i think the other ones were at 9am or something around then. I will find out for sure and let you know

I had a few reasons for not doing IMFL 1st because i did it a few years ago and i want to do different races 2nd its close to home for me and i have friends to stay with....I am still planning to volunter this year with you
