Sunday 8am Lake Ride

Post  REALLY2 on Fri Nov 14, 2008 10:46 pm

Greetings to everyone. I found out that you all had a forum so I thought this would be the best way to invite all of you to join us on our winter trainning rides. I have tried and tried to invite ya'll through Dawn but I think she has a hard time getting up that early on a Sunday morning. Sleep Anyway here is what we do and will do. Leave the lake very close to 8am and head into the wind first so that we return with a tail wind. We try to sneak a stop in around half way. We keep the pace between 18 and 22mph. NOT a hammerfest just a nice easy pace two by two. We will try and keep the ride to around 55 to 60 miles, but since we don't do the same loop each week (wind thing) it varies. This is not like the Southgate ride on Sat. mornings I promise we are much nicer on this ride then Saturday; well in less Dawn rides with us then we may pay her back for some you that she has been mean to. Twisted Evil So with all that said come join us on Sundays for a nice easy tempo ride. Just remember we leave at 8am so keep the social life on Sat. to a small roar; right Dawn. Hope to see everybody Sunday; watch the weather cyclist tend to be babies about the cold. Take care. Dawn lead your group and show up for once! Laughing Razz Shocked

Didn"t want your friends to think I"m being mean. Notice you didn't agree to join us for the ride. For a good ride you could make it back from your parents to ride with us. That is as long as it is not to cold. I'm still a wimp.

Brian has a lot of stuff to do this morning, so I'm going to join the group this morning at 8 at Lake Hollingsworth...if I can stand the cold weather!

My new tri-bike will have its Lakeland coming out party!

Great ride today, slow into the wind and a little shorter but understandably so with the wind and cold weather. Thanks to everyone who came out, next time you should ride too! Smile

It was WAY too cold for me to ride...even at 3:00 this afternoon! Ok, I could have bundled up a little more. I'm still itching to ride the new bike. I'll be riding next Saturday and Sunday...barring any injuries and cold temperatures.

I think this is God's way of teaching me patience...since I obviously have none. Basketball

We still ride around the LAKE on Tues. nice and easy. I leave the shop at 5:30 and ride for 1-2 hours. Brian sorry about Sunday but things were in the air and needed to be settled. You got caught in friendly fire sorry, but you weren't the only one. KP and I owe a few people after that. You didn't get lost did you. We made sure someone else was with you before we continued. Right up to that point I thought you were on fire. Still think you had a good ride. Sorry Twisted Evil

I figured something was up when we were going up hill 22mph+ into the wind during a tornado watch. Not the easy side by side riding a few weeks ago. I caught the next guy that got dropped and we stopped at the store and waiting for the others. It was a good ride. Tuesday nights are good, I will be there next week. Thanks for the info.

Ok...so it was my plan to do this ride THIS Sunday (December 7)...am I going to get dropped?

I'm hoping we won't have sub-zero temps or high winds this weekend. I have to say I'm a fair weather cyclist. What a Face
