Cyclocross season/clinic
The Florida cyclocross season starts in Clermont on November 9th! If there is enough interest, I am willing to hold an informal 'cross clinic within the next two weeks. There will be no charge and I'll teach the basics on dismounts, shouldering the bike, and remounts, as well as when it's better to run vs. ride. For those who have not experienced the exquisite pain of a cyclocross race, go to the following link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VRZOa_E9Qs8. You DO NOT need a cross bike to enjoy the experience; a mountain bike will do fine.

Sweet. How does next weekend look for the clinic (Nov. 1-2)? Is Saturday or Sunday better for everyone?

Sounds good to me, I probably could get some more people too. If you want more people interested, you may want to inform some of the bike shops. I can tell Bent's if you want.

I'm out of town that weekend but would definitely appreciate any help you could give me getting started if that's the weekend you do have the clinic.

If during the week (in the evening)is better for everyone, I'll try to accomodate. My main concern is finding an area with adequate lighting since the days are running short. I'll do some research- if anyone out there has a venue they'd like to donate, I'd be most appreciative.

Weekdays are tough for me. I'm working and going to school, so I watch lectures and do homework after 5.

Here's a tentative schedule for the informal 'cross clinic:
Sunday, Nov. 2nd, 8:30am @ the Loyce Harpe (Carter Road) trailhead.
We'll work on cyclocross specific skills, followed by a group trail ride for those interested.
