IM FL Volunteer

Is anyone planning on volunteering at IM FL? If so what position are you volunteering for? The reason I ask is I am thinking of volunteering and wondering what would be fun to do? I am leaning towards being a peeler, so I can watch the rest of the race.

I already signed up to volunteer along with a few of my other tri friends. I can't remember what i signed up for probably body marking

I know Becca and I are signed up. I think my three choices were finish line, bike transition, and body marking. But it's been a while and I dont remember.

Also, sounds like we might get a decent group going up there. We should carpool and stay at the same place. I will even check to see if I can get a bigger room so we can split it. Let me know if y'all are interested.

I have reserved a room at the Country Inn and Suites, which is located ridiculously close to the race. The single queen room rate is $77, but if people want to share a room, a two queen suite is $115 a night. Let me know if any of y'all are interested.

I got a condo for 400 for Thurs - Sun. It is a 1 bed with 2 double beds and a pull out sofa. We also have room for an air matress so that is an option too. Right now there are 4 of us splitting the cost

Is there an advantage to getting there Thursday, besides being in Panama City for a couple days? When do the ironman activities begin? My plan was to go Friday, but I don't want to miss anything.

I just signed up to volunteer. I think November would be the perfect time to get away to the scenic Panama City.

I might get a room that allows pets because I can't go anywhere without my shih-tzu "child"!

I will be racing, so I hope ya'll get good volunteer jobs to drag my tail across the finish line!!

I have a few friends racing so i would love the finish line too but body marking is early so you can technically do both jobs.

Who's all volunteering at IM Florida this November?

I just e-mailed the guy, and he said their server crashed and lost my volunteer registration. So...If there aren't going to be any Landsharks up there that weekend, I might cancel my trip.

I am planning on going, whether volunteering or not. How did you find out that their database crashed?

I was wondering what I was assigned to do, and they had a "volunteer login" that I couldn't access. So I e-mailed the guy, and he told me about the crash.

Have they started posting what the volunteers are doing? I wonder if I was lost in the crash.

If you have a login ID#, then you know what you're doing. Otherwise, you might be lost, too. Check the Web site...there's an e-mail address I used for the volunteers (you see it when they say that volunteers under 18 years old have to e-mail them). I'd e-mail the guy to see for sure.

I was lost also. If you have registered, you may want to check to see if you are still registered.

That sucks. I just replied to the confirmation email they sent me so that they can get see my info and hopefully make things better.
